The Ginkgo leaf is a traditional Arts and Crafts symbol representing tranquility, longevity, and harmony with nature. Ginkgo Studios was also founded on these principals and ideals. We are guided and inspired by the philosophy and beauty of the Arts and Crafts Movement of the last century and we produce pieces that are aesthetically appealing and that will last a life time. Honest craftsmanship, good design, and the use of natural materials are the cornerstones of our work, hence our motto “Art from the Earth”.
Ginkgo Studios is owned and operated by husband and wife artisans, Mark P. Mooney and Kathleen M. Allen who live part time in Western Pennsylvania and Northern New Mexico. Mark produces custom made picture frames and fine furniture in the Arts and Crafts style and Kathleen creates custom-made ceramic tiles and vessels influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and indigenous peoples.
